I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Cheesy Biscuits with Sourdough Discard

Light and fluffy dinner biscuits created with your sourdough discard and ready in about half an hour.

Ingredients:
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dry oregano
1/2 tsp dry basil
1/2 tsp dry parsley
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp sugar
2 tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup sourdough discard
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup butter, melted
Mix the milk and vinegar together and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk the garlic powder, oregano, basil, parsley, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. In another bowl mix the milk/vinegar with discard, then add the melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix just to combine. Fold in the cheese. Using a 1/4 cup scoop place balls of dough 2" apart on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 450°F for 14 minutes to an internal temperature of 200°F. Makes 12 biscuits.
