I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Slow Cooker Dinner Rolls

No oven, no proofing and little hands on effort ... what could be easier?!

Ingredients:

3 cups flour

1 cup milk warmed to 105-110°F

2  1/4 tsps instant yeast

2 tbsps honey

2 tbsps sugar

2 tbsps melted butter

2 tsps salt

1 tbsp melted butter (optional)

Add 1 tbsp sugar to the warm milk in a large mixer bowl, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Gently stir and cover the bowl with a dishtowel for 5 minutes or until the yeast becomes bubbly. Once it's activated add the rest of the sugar, honey, flour, 2 tbsps melted butter and salt.

Using the dough hook combine together and knead for 5 minutes. When the dough is smooth and elastic remove to the counter and cut into 12 equal(ish) pieces.

Take the ends of each piece and tuck together underneath to form a ball.

And place the balls in a parchment lined slow cooker. Cover and bake on high for 90 minutes.

After 90 minutes lift the buns out of the slow cooker using the parchment paper. If you want them browned, brush the tops with melted butter and broil 1-2 minutes on the parchment.

Best eaten the same day, but if you have leftovers they freeze very well to keep their freshness.
