I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Chocolate Protein Bars

No bake, fiber rich protein bars sweetened with dates and oh so easy to make! It's the perfect snack on the go!

Ingredients:

16 dates

1/4 cup water

1 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup milk

2 cups oats

1/2 cup protein powder

1/3 cup chia seeds

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Add dates to water and microwave on high 1 minute. Mash with a fork then microwave for another minute. Mash until smooth, then add the peanut butter and milk.

Combine the remaining dry ingredients in a large bowl. I used unflavoured protein powder, but chocolate flavoured would be rad! Add the date mix to the dry and combine well.

Line a 9 X 9" pan with plastic wrap. Spoon globs of the mix into the pan and spread with a spatula. Cover with a second piece of plastic wrap and firmly press down with something flat like a book, or I like to use this mini loaf pan.

Refrigerate 30 minutes then lift out of pan, place on a cutting board and cut into 24 bars about 1 X 2" each.

Store in refrigerator.
