I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Fried Fresh Pineapple

No extra seasoning is required... this simple fried pineapple just bursts with flavour all on it's own! It goes very well alongside barbecued chicken or pork chops. But nothing beats it on top of ice cream!
Ingredients:
1  1/2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (or canned packed in natural juices, drained)
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsps honey
pinch of salt

Heat the butter, honey and salt together in a skillet until the butter melts, then add the pineapple. Some recipes add cinnamon but I think that takes away from the already flavourful pineapple.
Stir and continue cooking on medium heat until you get a nice caramelization and the pineapple pieces are golden on all sides. About 5-6 minutes.
Now all you need is some vanilla ice cream!
Makes 2 servings
