I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

I know December 4th is National Cookie Day, but I couldn't wait that long to share this recipe with you!

Soft and chewy, a little salty and uber chocolatey! And because they're jumbo you can honestly say "I only ate ONE cookie!" (maybe 😉)

Ingredients:
3/4 cup + 2 tbsps butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups chocolate chips
sea salt for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 350°F. Place butter in an oven safe bowl and while oven is preheating put the bowl in the oven. When the butter is half melted remove from oven, stir and let cool. Once cooled add both the sugars and beat. Then add the vanilla and eggs beating after the addition of each egg.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt and add to the wet ingredients just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. I used a combination of semi-sweet and milk chocolate in these ones.

Using a 1/4 cup scoop place dough balls on parchment lined baking sheets.

Give them a little pat down just so there's a bit of a flat top then sprinkle on some sea salt and you can add more chocolate chips pressed on top as well because ... more chocolate !!

Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes
Now where's a glass of milk?

Makes 21 large cookies
