I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Everything Bagel Hummus with Bagel Chips

Looking for a healthier, protein packed snack? Try this Everything Bagel hummus with bagel chips and your favourite veggie dippers!

Ingredients:

Everything Bagel Hummus:

15 oz can chickpeas, drained (reserve water)
2 tsps minced garlic
1/4 cup tahini
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lemon, juiced (about 1/4 cup)
2 tbsps reserved chickpea water
1 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning

Bagel Chips:

2 bagels
2 tbsps olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
salt to taste

Let's start with the hummus. Put the chickpeas, minced garlic and tahini in a food processor and whirl until the chickpeas are processed into a thick glob like this 🠋

Then add the olive oil, lemon juice and chickpea water and combine well. If you want it a bit smoother add more chickpea water. Stir in the bagel seasoning.

Spoon the hummus into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle more Everything Bagel seasoning on top.

For the bagel chips, cut each bagel in half, then cut each ring in half again. Thinly slice the crescents.

Stir the olive oil, smoked paprika and onion powder together in a small bowl. Brush on both sides of the bagel thins and place on a lined baking sheet. Season with salt.

Bake at 350°F about 5 minutes per side. May be stored in an airtight container if not eaten right away.

And now you're ready for the big game or whatever you need a healthy snack for.
Serves 4-6
