I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Light Skillet Apple Crisp

Dessert for two this is not! Unless you are dessert piggies like we are!
Ingredients:
6 cups sliced apples
2 tbsps flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch salt

1/2 cup oats
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 tsp salt

Grease a 10" cast iron skillet or baking dish.
Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt and toss with the apples to coat. Place them in the bottom of the skillet.
Mix the oats, brown sugar, butter and salt together, cutting through to incorporate the butter. Then put this topping over the apples.
Ready for the oven...
Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes until fragrant and golden.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
Actually serves 4-6
