I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Sesame Chicken and Noodles

Easy, healthy and ready in 30 minutes or less!

Ingredients:

8 oz whole wheat pasta

1 lb ground chicken

2 cups thinly chopped kale

1 1/2 tsps sesame oil

1 sweet red pepper, sliced

1 celery stalk, sliced

3 tsps minced garlic

1 small onion, thinly sliced

Sauce:

1 tsp lime juice

1 1/2 tsps sesame oil

1 1/2 tsps honey

1 tsp peanut butter

1 tbsp water

Seasoning mix:

2 tsps brown sugar

1 tsp salt

3 tsps sesame seeds

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp ginger

1/2 tsp pepper

Blend the brown sugar, salt, sesame seeds, garlic powder, ginger and pepper together and set aside. Cook the spaghetti noodles as directed on package.

Then heat 1 1/2 tsps sesame oil in a large frying pan and start browning the chicken. Add the onions and garlic and 1/2 of the seasoning mix. Break up the chicken and cook until no pink remains.

Add celery, sweet pepper and kale and cook 2-3 minutes.

Add the drained spaghetti. Combine the sauce ingredients and pour into the pan. Toss to coat and heat 1-2 minutes.
