I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Korean Bean Sprouts

Here's a garlicky and salty, quick and simple side.

Ingredients:
8 oz bean sprouts
1 quart water
1 tsp salt
Dressing:
1 1/2 tsps chopped young chives
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
pinch sugar
2 pinches of salt
1 tsp soy sauce (optional)

Bring water and salt to a boil, then add the bean sprouts for 1-2 minutes. Next dump them into a colander and rinse well with cold water. Let sit in the colander a few minutes to dry. In a bowl combine the dressing ingredients then toss in the sprouts to coat. Serve cold. Serves 1-2
