1 loaf stale French or Italian crusty bread
1/2 cup butter (not marg)
1 tsp salt
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Leave your bread out overnight or even better pickup a loaf of day old bread on the clearance rack. Cut into 2 inch cubes.
Melt butter, salt and garlic in a deep pan like a wok. If you like more garlic, go for it. Once the butter is melted remove the pan from the heat and stir in the bread cubes. Toss well to evenly coat. See why a wok is a good idea.
Spread the bread out on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake at 375 F for 15 - 20 minutes, tossing halfway through.
Wouldn't these look and taste great on your next salad? And don't forget to sprinkle those toasty pieces of garlic on too.
And they freeze well too! Just ziplok serving sizes of croutons and defrost as needed. Who knew?
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
